I Feel Victimized

Someone opened the dryer door on my last load and did not restart the cycle when they closed to door. The time ran out and I had to pay for another dryer cycle. I am not amused.

That is truly evil, Chuckles. Here is a different form of dryer evil: You go to use the single washing machine in your basement, and it is full of someone's crap. Fine, you unload it and pile it on top of the dryer and put in your own clothes. Exactly 35 minutes later, when your wash cycle is done, you see that the other people had returned one minute prior, and placed their wet clothes in the dryer, and inserted an extra fifty cents, so now you have to wait 90 minutes before you can get your clothes in the dryer. And then it is another 60 minutes before they will be dry. And it's already fucking 2 AM. You totally know that the previous load could have been put in the dryer hours earlier, but they waited to maximize your inconvenience. Oh, and their clothes smell funny and make your clothes smell funny. Cobags.

The load was pants, a couple shirts, and a towel. I don't know why anyone would bother, especially when there was a free dryer next to mine.

You know why their clothes smell funny, UC? Those clothes have developed a serious case of mildew from being left wet in a washer too long. You might try washing a load of whites with a hefty amount of bleach in that machine before washing anything else. Or maybe just running it empty with soap and bleach. I am going to start reading in the laundry room while my clothes cycle since this isn't the first time I have been the victim of shenanigans.

That's why I love having in-unit washer/dryer. Well, until I forget that I put something in the washer and 3 days later when putting a new load in see a crusty ring of clothes sitting there.

Washing the clothes in a white vinegar can get rid of some of the mildew. I used a cup of vinegar on one load of whites that accidentally went green. Cleared most of it right up. I used bleach on the clothes on a second wash and they were fine.

SO yeah, with cooking and cleaning, I would make someone a good husband, if I were into that sort of thing. Res Publica can keep his dirty comments to himself.
