The Non-Date Date

You all probably know of that which I now type. The phenomenon may not be limited to my life, but it is something that happens more often to me than my friends. I know a couple women in the DC Metro area with whom I like to hang out. These are not women I am trying to hump, regardless of whether the back part of my brain thinks that would be a whole lot of fun and trouble.

We sometimes meet up for dinner, movies, hikes, and shows. I don't think this is at all odd. We are friends and hang out. No big deal. Some people have asked me why I would waste time being friends with a woman I don't plan to date or hump. This is akin to asking why we need a functioning intelligence service or investigative press corps. A fresh female perspective on certain aspects of life is important.

Friends who like to take walks at night and toss a frisbee in a park on a pleasant, mosquito-free evening in March are rare.

I wish there was a frisbee golf range close by that would let me play at night. I could bring the 2 AM Game back.

Clearly, you didn't learn anything from When Harry Met Sally.

When Harry Met Who?

Never seen it.

Funny you mention this,Chuckles. I was just talking about this last night with a female friend of mine. One of her male friends told her guys can't really be just friends with women. Which is just not true. Plus, you're right, it's like having your own focus group at your disposal.

I'm totally with you. Chuckles. I've always had fantastic female friends to do all kinds of non-sexual things with. In fact, outside of my two or three closest friends, who are guys and/or Pinko Punkos, I much prefer the company of women.

UC, the last man AG dated that prefered the company of women ended up recently making out with a guy in front of AG!!!

Chuckles, AG knows why folks ask you because when said females give you advice -- it's not like you effin take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. You could hang with Tuckbag and play tennis.

And be on Dances with the Stars.

Except I would win Dancing with the Stars when the judges noticed my crotch.

AG is getting a little desperate. "GACK! There are otehr women somewhere? KERFUFFLE!"

Brando, some guys can't hang out with women without hitting on them. A good friend of mine is that way. He doesn't understand how I can do it.

Look, I didn't say I didn't understand how you can do it, I just said I didn't understand why you did it.

Clearly, time spent hanging out with the opposite sex that you aren't trying to procreate with is time that could be spent more productively watching reruns of 70's tv shows or reading a book or something.

I view the time spent with these friends as research into improving my odds of time spent practicing procreation with other women. Also, they aren't boring or anything so it's not like I am not having fun with them.

A Bob Heinlein book, for example.

Anyway, I like female friends who play squirt guns and nerf guns at the beach with me. Fun!

TBH I have fantasies about all of my female friends. I have never met a girl that I haven't imagined in bed naked. we can be friends but I am still going to picture you naked. Unless you are older than 35. or fat. yes I am like the kiddy pool in winter. shallow and cold.

I never said I wasn't entertaining fantasies, folks. I never said I was either.

I will say that I NEVER entertain fantasies about my brothers' and my friends' wives. That is against the Code.

"hump". he he

That's not completely true. And it depends on how we define 'fantasies'. AG knows something that once came out of the Chuck mouth that could start WWW III on the blogs. However, UC told AG to never speak of it in public.

I have no idea what I said that would possibly ignite a "WWW" III on the blogs.

Which means it was probably an off-hand joke.
