SURPRISE!

My apartment has no hot water and no electricity. Many millions in the world suffer through the same situation daily for their entire lives. Those people do not live in the District of Columbia and no one asks them why they clearly haven't showered when they report for work. It was cold in my apartment this morning and the water was freezing and since I hope to use my penis for fun and profit at some point in the future, I skipped the shower.

I saw Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters on Friday. Review to be posted today. I also saw The Lives of Others. Ditto on the review schedule.

take a pot of water, heat it on the stove and give yourself a sponge bath!

Better yet, get someone else to give you a sponge bath!

I bet a certain bow-tied evil genius is behind your latest troubles.

that sucks, i'm sorry to hear that!

one time the heat went out at my house in the dead of winter. i had to wear a ski mask and i kept hoping no one would come by because they'd probably think i was a killer. a killer with a lot of clothes on and a bright red nose, but you get what i mean.

Also, no internet at home for the fourth straight day. Why am I paying for this crap?

Since you live in DC (by choice) I have no sympathy for you.

Come to the dark side ... move out to NoVa ...

NoVa?

Gawd. The guy already doesn't get laid. Do you want him to not get laid and have nothing else to do but go to Starbucks and Ikea?

AG, you are so right. So. So. Right.

That said, nice area. Manassass is a little much, but Front Royal is gorgeous.

Yeah, if you like driving all the hell and back. I saw enough of northern Virginia when I worked at the gutter company. It blows.

They are also raising income taxes in northern Virgina. I don't own a car or a house, so my property tax would be minimal, but I like the struggle for voting rights in the District. NoVa only struggles for new outlet malls and fights for the next TGI Fridays franchise. Fuck that.

I typed up a nice response about how not ALL of NoVa is parking lots and strip malls (specifically the area I live that is more Metro accessible than Chuckles place) but screw it.

People who live in DC are always convinced that VA is a giant bag of ass and it's not.

My area's pedestrian friendly, convenient, and not that expensive. If you enjoy not having a vote and crappy utilities you should keep living in DC.

It is true that not all of NoVa is parking lots and strip malls. I just don't like it enough to move there.

Haha, you'd rather be able to sit at home and bitch (to yourself) about how your power isn't on and your internet doesn't work?

Maybe Chuckles is the mayor of DC. That would explain why he can't move.

dEn, seriously. Are you getting laid every night? The Chuck man seems a woman every night on the street he could take back to his apartment for hippity dippity. The difference between DC and VA is that 50% of those women, if approached properly would be inclined. In NoVa they laugh you off and tell there husbands when they pick them up in the Ford SUV in front of Blockbuster.

That doesn't mean that he won't come over to play videogames at your house. It's just that Chuck man ain't getting laid while he's there!

Well, if Chuckles is the mayor, perhaps he should stop trying to take over the school system. That is apparently making some people angry (at least as far as I can tell from the local news promos I fast forward through on my TiVo).

Also, maybe I will move to DC once they build that sweet new stadium for the Nationals. That is definitely worth the money spent on it. Right?

@AG: I suppose you are right. I don't think Chuckles awesome pickup line, "Who wants to sex the wang!" would work nearly as well here.

Also, if you enjoy going out to bars with Georgetown and GWU students Chuckles area of DC is nice. Of course if you'd rather hang out with there parents, you can just party with me in Old Town ...

I am laughing at how accurately dEn has described me area after only driving through it twice late at night. He is dead on target.

GWU and Georgetown students are nice for rumpy bumpy, but not all that interesting in conversation. AU students are great at conversation, but less so in the sack. Of course, that is just my experience so far.
