That Poor Old Chicken

What is the song that has the lyrics:

...so he poured hot water up and down its leg,
and that poor, old chicken laid a hard boiled egg?

Anyone know or is this too Americablog-gy and NRO-y to ask other people to do my research for me?

We sang that at camp.

Yeah, that song is played by the ice cream trucks here and none of my peoples know what song it is, or even that it was a song.

We too have an ice cream truck that hangs out in front of the high school, and plays the first refrain from Turkey in the Straw over and over and over and over and over and over. Until instead of ice cream, you just yearn for sweet sweet death. Interestingly, the lyric you refer to is a modern, and very PETA-unfriendly variation:

The lyrics I remember involve the phrase "and that goddamned chicken laid a hard boiled egg". My camp was hard-core.

We used to tell old lady Leary's baby to "Burn, Baby Burn" Serves her right for leaving that lantern in the shed.

"My peoples"?

You are not Moses and I don't want to get into this.

When people say the culture is getting worse, songs like these remind me that it's actually getting better.

Yes.

This has been another edition...

I still think that I am awesome. So this is probably more Americablog-gy than NRO-y.

I have no idea what you people are talking about.

Also, thanks for hanging out with us Chuckles, it was super fun.
