Recent developments in my life have led me to quest for a new job. I am looking for an editorial or copyediting type job in any city in the US. Hell, anywhere in the world would be fine with me.
I am specifically willing to move to Bratislava, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Portland.
UPDATE: In response to mdhatter, I am finishing off my certificate in Editing and Proofreading at the USDA Graduate School and would like to use those skills in my new job. Any company that writes anything for public distribution should have someone capable of preventing goofs and errors that seem acceptable but then wind up on Jay Leno's segment of newspaper mistakes. I have been working for a magazine and am not using these skills as much as I was promised or would like.

UC and AG could help with the Boston gig. In fact, you could totally live with UC! He'll give you a deal because he only gives deals to friends.

*sniff*
All cities known for their sausages, or in the case of Boston, their Wang.
Lemme know if you need a place to crash while job-hunting etc... I may also be moving, but not for certain.
Any interest in my part of the world?
Jenny, London would also be cool. I need to have a job wherever it is I end up.
London will be hard as a Yank in terms of work permits, etc.
I say, you, UC and MDhatter all move in together. Total bach pad. You must like Red Sox when it comes to those two. Oh yeah, and love meat products.
Of course, AG wants her own sterile room for visits.
P.S. Um, Snag. With that photojournalism as of late, none of us are even visiting you -- let alone moving there!
Chuckles, check out some jobs at Elsevier. They have positions that sound right up your alley in Burlington, MA, which is reasonably close to Boston. Tonnes of stuff in Philly and NYC as well.
I'd assume Chuckles is still going to be attempting to live a car-free lifestyle (in addition to his usual carefree one). So a job that's not in an area where he can get around sans automobile may not happen.
You could always come back to Madison as well. Or if you're looking for something even more exotic, I could talk to my cousin in China and see if he knew of anything there.

There was a listing for someone to work on Signage and Wayfinding. I think it's perfect for you!
Sure, UC helps him. What did UC do to keep his girlfriend in the state? Helped her pack, though.
Cornweed.
Uh oh. I hope you aren't unemployed already and are leaving on your own terms.
I also hope you're not poor now because that ruins any possibility of my "eating a huge quantity of meat with Chuckles" plan. I am less likely to visit any of those places than DC. I very occasionally go to Boston.
Oh, well. :(
No decisions yet everyone, still testing the waters.
If you move to Chicago, would you be campaigning to be a part of Team Chicago? There might be an initiation. And a secret handshake. And some alcohol.
This is an anonymous comment. You seem like the type who would like fighting forest fires in California this fall.
VON, I will always be a part of Team Genius. No matter how sweet your confections or how sweet your confessions, nothing could entice me to Team Chicago.
Team Boston needs you.
Room in board if you'll raise my kids and guard my television.
If you won't be a part of Team Chicago, than you're not welcome in our city. Sorry, kiddo. A city that bakes together, stays together.
Good luck to you. If I hear of any jobs in the behemoth company I work for that might interest you, I'll let you know.
Chuckles, what do you do, approximately?
Chicago, Madison, it's all good. The Community needs to have a larger representation in the Midwest....
Then I can get the fuck out of here. effin snow.
Come on, mdhatter.
He's a genius. That's all you need to know.
good luck Genius; the job search can be grueling, but so rewarding too.
Since you've lived here, I probably don't have anything to tell you that you don't already know.
Just go get a PhD and forget about it already.
Geesh.
London/England would be a challenge, but not impossible work permit-wise. It's only non-qualified peeps such as myself that can't find work! :P I will admit, 'tis pricy, but balanced with an exotic location, good public transportation for the car-less, and the assumed American sense of world domination and entitlement is like a free pass to poke as much fun as you like without the "locals" taking offense!
Heh heh heh.
