Boardwalk Food at Rehoboth Beach, DE: a mini snorkel

Starter: Top Dog's Chicago Top Dog.
I thought I would start with a classic, since I love Chicago-style hot dogs. Top Dog tried really hard to capture the essence, but ultimately failed. They had the right relish and celery salt, but there was lettuce and diced tomato on the dog. To say nothing of the total lack of hot peppers or a pickle spear would be a disservice to Chicago dog's everywhere, because a hot dog isn't Chicago-style without these two items. Overall grade: a generous C-

Salad Course: Thrasher's Boardwalk Fries
If you skip Thrasher&'s, you are skipping the beach in the words &"beach trip." Thick cut, peanut oil fried, slightly seasoned, some small sections of intact potato skin, with a consumer added dash of salt. Thrasher's does a brisk enough business that each serving is practically fried to order, and the best fries I've had since the last time I went to the beach. The flock of seagulls harassing me for some fries and the booming of the t-shirt store's shitty techno remixes of current shitty radio songs kills the mood a tad. Overall grade: A-

Main Course: Buffet of Eye Candy
AG would murder me if I went into any detail. Overall grade: B+

Dessert Course: Dolle's Fudge
I purchased three pounds of fudge in chocolate, peanut butter and chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate nut. I can't really describe the fudge other than to say that I meant to bring some back to a friend in the city, but none survived the trip to the car. In other words, I boughted you some fudge, but I eated it. Overall Grade: A

Unrelated addendum: Of course, I took a ton of pictures of the food. However, I used Pinko Punko's camera and that contraption seems incapable of downloading photos. PP probably has some excuse for this, but whatever it is, it's a bad lie to cover for his laziness.

The fries sounds like a rare dollop of deep-friend goodness from heaven. I think I might have had them and I think I felt similarly.

Hey, doesn't your blackberry have a camera built-in? Do you really expect us to believe your excuses?

inexplicably, the faux-AG that I've been seeing about seems to mostly be dropping vaguely supportive and positive "Have Fun!" and "You're doing Great!" comments, so I think you'd be safe.

I believe the Blackberry fell into your cookie mix, and will be mailed to the next cookie contest judges with your entry. I believe that.

The camera is fine on my BB, it just doesn't have any space left on the teeny, tiny, built-in HD due to the Facebook app and Pandora app...until I buy a chip of some kind, I can't store more than one or two photos. I am not sure how to upload photos with mobile blogging, either.

Regarding the Chicago-style hot dog review: I agree, the lack of hot peppers and pickle spear is a serious oversight. However, tomato slices and lettuce are standard toppings on Chicago-style hot dog, although I personally find that practice revolting.

Carry on.

Oh no, I would murder him Zombie. However, the fact that he held off on that tells me two things: (1) Our boy has come a long way and (2) It was Delaware. They aren't that great to look at there compared to say, Padre Island or Palm Springs.

RB is fun. It's not what it used to be, but it still has some fun left in it along with some good food to consume.

Now shut your pie hole and get back to our blog! It needs updating and I am too busy traveling the world right now and dealing with my k. babee to do it.

I do not recall lettuce or tomato slices on my Superdawgs. I continue to hold all so-called "Chicago-style" hot dogs to the Superdawg standard. I am confident that The Uncanny Canadian would support me in this matter.

I am not familiar with "Superdawgs", although I am sure they are probably very tasty. The fact remains, however, that a classic Chicago-style hot dog is characterized by tomato slices and lettuce. A quick internet search will confirm the validity of my position.

Respectfully,

Anonymous.

Internet, schminternet. Real research is done in the field.

I suggested using the internet only because it could provide quick and convenient confirmation of tomato and lettuce being standard toppings. I assure you that field work will confirm this also.

Tomato, yes.

Lettuce is for poseurs.
